I may be WAY off on my thoughts about Peter Minnick and his children. Use this as a guide only. If you can find absolute proof, please tell me! By 1830 Peter had 4 boys and 4 girls. I think I have identified 2 boys and 2 girls so we are a long way away!
In 1816, Peter Minick was on a tax list in Greene County, TN (50 acres). They are also found in early TN land grants in Greene county. 1820 Samuel Minnich 50 acres, grant #6651; 1821 Peter Minnich 50 acres grant #6909 and then Peter again in grant #6909.
Peter and Samuel appear in Rhea Co. about 1822.
1823 (Capt. Braselton's Co): Peter Minick 1 WP and Samuel Minnick 1WP, 75A in Yellow Cr
I have NO proof yet, that Peter and Samuel are brothers, however it is fairly obvious by the fact the they traveled together from one county to the next until Samuel's death in 1831.

This appears to be wife # 2 or possibly wife # 3 as she is older then the wife in the 1850 census.I found a John W. Minnick marrying Hannah J. Robinson
