Carolyn Fetherlin , I do not know if Anita V. Eakin is still alive - I haven't tried to contact her because I haven't had time when I've been in SAT area.  She was on oxygen last and in a wheel chair.

Anita is a Spark  501 Sunhaven , San Antonio, Tx. She called me in Fl. and she has had a postal change .  She is actually at the same place, if she is alive and able to be.  She is a wheelchair and on oxygen.

Susan Harbin and James Robert Sparks are listed on her genealogy.  I know James R. Sparks was married twice but I don't know of another marriage for Susan Harbin.
Anita V. Eakin has these children listed under James and Susan. Here is list of children that Anita has:

From Caroline Fetherlin

I have a Sparks Quarterly of Mar 1961, Whole No. 33 in an article entitled "The Family of John Sparks, born about 1780 of Morgan Co., Ga. we made the statement (page 541) that James Robert Sparks, b. Sept. 10, 1803 , son of John and Sarah (Tickle) Sparks. "was probably the James Sparks who mar. Rebecca Thompson in Larence Co., Alabama.  on March 20, 1834."
This same assumption was made on page 1324 of the June 1970 issue, Whole No. 70.  We now realize that this was in error and urge that our readers having those issues of the Quarterly in their files note this correction. Anita V. Sparks Eakin of 501 Sunhaven Dr. SAT (78239), reports that she now has proof that the James Sparks who mar. Rebecca Thompson in 1834 in Larence Co., Al. was NOT the James Robert Sparks b. in 1803.  She has found proof that James Robert Sparks (born 1803) was married to Susan Harbin in Hall Ct., Ga. on April 5, 1823.
They had a son named Cicero Augustus Sparks who was b. Feb. 14, 1837 in Blount Springs, Blount Co., Al.  He died Apr 2, 1888, Waco, Tx.  In Quarterly of Dec. 1969, Whole No. 68, page 1281, we published an abstract of the Confederate States military record of Cicero A. Sparks He was called "C. A. Sparks" in that record.  He enlisted in Waco, Tx. on Sept. 15, 1861 & paroled at Jackson, Miss. on May 13, 1865. He served in Co. G, 6th Regiment Tx. Cavalry.
From 1840 census and info. supplied by a genealogist for the Harbin family, it appears that James Robert Sparks prob. had five daug. and 1 son born before 1840.  We have not found him on the 1850 census.  Did he poss. move fr. Blount Co., Al. to Scott Co. (age 12 b. in Ala.) in the household of John W. and Georgianna Price had been Sparks.  A Scott Co, Mo, mar. record reveals that "George Ann Sparks" mar to John Wesley Price on Dec. 30, 1847.  By that time the 1850 census had already been taken. John W. and Georgiann (Sparks) Price had a daug. named Susan.
Could Georgianna (Sparks), Price have been a daug. of James Robert and Susan (Harbin) Sparks and were the Sparks children living in her  and her husband's household in 1850 her sisters and brother?

Scott County Court November Term 1850

Guardianship of Georgia Ann Sparks and others
Thomas H. Price guardian of said wards comes and says he has no settlement to make at this term.

Scott County Court February Term 1852

Guardianship of Georgia Ann Sparks and Sarah J. Sparks and now at this time comes Thomas H. Price guardian of said wards and files his annual Settlement and he is charged with the sum of one hundred and forty three dollars and sixteen cents and credited with the sum of eight dollars and ninety seven cents as per vouchers filed from No. one to five inclusion leaving a balance in hands of said guardian of one hundred thirty four dollars and nineteen cents, which is examined and approved of by the court.

Here is what I think. I believe that Guardianship payments were being made to the people who had taken the minor children into their home. Georgia Ann and John Price had taken in Frances, Mahala, Virginia Ann and at the beginning, Augustus and she was given an allowance to care for them. The court records says Georgia Ann "And Others." In the eyes of the law she was still a minor herself but over the age of 14 and was overseen by Thomas H. Price.
I believe that Sarah Jane who was over the age of 14 was taken in by Thomas Baldwin and he was given an allowance for her.
I believe that Martha Ann was taken in by Thomas H. Price and he was given an allowance for her.
I believe that by 1854 Thomas Price had custody of Augustus and he received an allowance for him. It appears that he became quite ill as $12 was paid by the estate for medicine and services rendered. This was quite a bit of money for this time.
This is how I read all of the court records.
