He bought property in Rhea County, Tennessee, August 19, 1844. It is recorded that John Davis sold 95 acres to Henry Minnick for $150. Then on November 16, 1844, Henry Minnick sold 95 acres to Orville Paine for $175. Assuming this is the same property, Henry made a $25 profit in three months time. Pretty good for a 17 year old man.

Adaline's birth and death dates were found on her tombstone in Montgomery Cemetery. Her husband is buried next to her. I wonder if she and Mary Emaline were twins? Their next younger brother was born a year after Mary Emaline.
One of their sons, Thomas Peace Houston, died in Rhea County in 1944, at the age of 74. His death certificate confirmed his father was Thomas Houston and his mother was Adeline Minick.Sarah's headstone shows that she was born in 1828 and her sister Emaline was born 22 Jan. 1828.
