Grandpa Felix fought in Civil War - lost left arm in the Battle of Chickamauga. On January 5, 1864, he was discharged from CSA at Chickamauga for disability.
The 1870 census of Bibb County lists Felix, living in Randolph, Bibb County, AL at age 34.
According to his application for CSA pension, became a resident of Louisiana November 14, 1880. He and his family moved to Liberty Hill, Louisiana. Grandma Jones often talked about her family's move from Alabama. They came by mule-drawn wagon and she claims to have walked a lot of the time. The men slept under the wagon at night while she slept inside. She said she was about six or seven when they moved to Louisiana.
In 1900, Grandpa Felix is found living in Bienville Parish, La, Ward 6, age 65 with second wife, Louiza Catherine and son, Robert. He states that he was born in Alabama and his parents were born in Tennessee. His occupation is listed as farmer.
Around 1920, he was found to have cancer of mouth and moved to Uncle John's home in Friendship, Louisiana where he died later that year.
